All League of Ireland clubs express desire to create an All-Island football league. All 10 clubs playing in the League of Ireland Premier Division have written to the FAI expressing their interest in establishing an All-Island football league in the country. They are calling on the FAI to work with UEFA to explore the possibility as the pandemic has left the league at serious risk. The letter comes after a similar one was written by 10 of the top clubs to the IFA in Northern Ireland.

Serena Williams among all-star list of owners of new LA women's soccer team. Tennis giant Serena Williams is among the list of Hollywood stars investing in new LA women's soccer team Angel City. Other owners include Natalie Portman, Eva Longoria and Jessica Chastain, along with Williams' husband and two-year-old daughter who are also listed in the consortium. The club will become the 11th team in the NWSL, entering the competition in 2022.

Ronnie O'Sullivan critical of allowing spectators at World Snooker Championship. Ronnie O'Sullivan has criticised the decision to allow spectators at the World Snooker Championship which begins later this month. The five-time champion said in a BBC Radio 5 Live interview that it is an "unnecessary risk" and they should be doing all they can to take stress off the NHS. While it appears that O'Sullivan will take part in the competition, he hasn't ruled out the possibility of withdrawing, saying that should he start to feel uncomfortable "there is no point in playing".
