Ireland's Dara O'Shea names West Brom's Young Player of the Year. Ireland U21 defender Dara O'Shea has been named Young Player of the Year at his club West Brom. The Dubliner made 17 Championship appearances, scoring three goals, and aiding The Hawthorns' promotion to the Premier League. It was the 21-year-olds first season with the club, and after playing regularly with Ireland U21s, he is now tipped to get the call up to the senior squad.
NFL players continue to opt out of upcoming season due to health concerns. The number of players opting out of the upcoming NFL season keeps increasing as, most recently, Green Bay Packers' Devin Funchess and Philadelphia Eagles' Marquise Goodwin made the decision to not play. Currently, 17 of the 32 teams in the NFL have had at least one player opt out, with over 20 players in total not participating in this season. Players that are high risk can receive a $350,000 payment should they opt out, and low risk players can receive a $150,000 advance on their 2021 salary.
Bournemouth considering legal action over Hawk-Eye blunder. Bournemouth football club haven't ruled out taking legal action over the failure of Hawk-Eye and VAR to award a crucial goal against relegation competitors Aston Villa. The incident occurred when Villa took on Sheffield United, who had a goal ruled out due to a technology mishap, securing Villa a point in the game. Bournemouth have been relegated to the Championship after finishing one point behind Villa who were saved.
